Sheikh Mohammed honours major donors of 1 Billion Meals

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Vice President of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, honour the major donors of the "1 Billion Meals" initiatives as well as the partners who are playing an active role in achieving the humanitarian goals of the initiative.

The 1 Billion Meals programme started by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) strives to provide sustainable food help to needy communities.

This initiative was a part of the United Arab Emirate’s contributions toward worldwide initiatives done through a unified food system. The initiative started during the holy month of Ramadan, and it will continue until all donations reach the underprivileged.

His Majesty Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum established the One Billion Meals initiative to provide food supplies to 50 nations’. The relief goes towards the most disadvantaged people in the countries. The 1 Billion Meals initiative had collected 76 million meals within just six days, and now the 1 billion meals initiative is accomplished. The ruler has also personally donated AED 400 million.

The initiative also aimed at providing food supplies to over 50 countries. The contributions/donations go towards the most deprived communities of the world. While honouring the largest donors, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed tweeted on his official Twitter handle, “Today, we are honouring the largest contributors to the 1 Billion Meals initiative, which is the largest campaign to provide food in fifty countries around the world.”

He further added, “The UAE is a large humanitarian team which carries well for all human beings. May God accept from you and from us our good deeds.”
