Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, was visited by the parents of another baby who benefited from the Children Health Programme at his office yesterday, 9 April 2023. He was updated that the surgery was successful and that the baby was healthy and recovering well.
According to the updates, The Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Terrance Drew, took to his official social media handle to express his joyfulness following the visit of the parents of benefited baby.
In his Facebook caption, he noted that he feels blessed after coming to know the wonderful news. He expressed his deepest gratitude and thankfulness to the parents for stopping by and sharing the great news with him.
In addition, while expressing his delightfulness, he cited, “Today I was blessed again with a visit from the parents of another baby who benefited from the Children’s Health Programme. Baby Romarion Smithen also travelled to Health City, Grand Cayman, for heart surgery.”
While sharing the update, he also shared a photograph from his meeting with the parents of benefited baby. During the meeting, he interacted with the parents and was briefly updated regarding the recovery journey of their baby’s future medical treatment.
Furthermore, Prime Minister and Minister of Health Terrance Drew has previously facilitated the critical heart surgeries of two babies of St Kitts and Nevis under the government’s initiative called Children Health Programme.
The surgeries were performed at the Health City Grand Cayman advanced territory hospital under the supervision of fully equipped and expert medical staff and doctors.
As per the reports, a few weeks back, the parents of the first baby also visited the Prime Minister’s office to share the great news with PM Terrance drew regarding the success of the surgery.
Meanwhile, being the Minster of Health of St Kitts and Nevis, Terrance Drew has made it clear that no child will suffer any health adversity due to their parent’s lack of financial capabilities.
He pointed out that the government of the twin island federation has been working to facilitate the health sector of the nation with better facilities and infrastructure.
The government has launched Children Health Programme to provide children with financial support and the best medical treatments under the initiative.
