Star-Studded Nominees Announced for 2024 Dubai Globe Soccer Awards

This year, Haaland, who claimed the prestigious Best Men’s Player award last year, is vying for the same accolade once again, competing with Mbappe, Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez, and Bayern Munich's Harry Kane

The 2024 Dubai Globe Soccer Awards are set to feature a dazzling array of footballing talent, with top nominees including Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Jude Bellingham, as well as Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Rodri.

Legendary duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are also among the contenders, promising an unforgettable celebration of football excellence.

The annual event, which will be held alongside the 19th Dubai International Sports Conference on December 27, continues to be a marquee occasion in the global football calendar.

With voting now open for the 15th edition of the awards, fans from around the world can cast their ballots across all 12 main categories until December 10.

This year, Haaland, who claimed the prestigious Best Men’s Player award last year, is vying for the same accolade once again, competing with Mbappe, Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez, and Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane.

Haaland, who enjoyed a stellar 2023/2024 campaign with Manchester City, is also a nominee in the Best Forward category.

The Norwegian will face stiff competition from rising Chelsea star Cole Palmer, who has already netted seven goals in just 11 Premier League appearances this season.

Palmer, who has become one of the standout players in English football, is also a contender in the Best Midfielder category alongside Bellingham, Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella, and FC Barcelona’s Dani Olmo.

In the Best Women’s Player category, Spain’s World Cup-winning duo Aitana Bonmatí and Salma Paralluelo, as well as Barcelona’s Caroline Graham Hansen, are among the frontrunners.

The Best Men’s Club award will see Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, and 10 other continental or domestic champions from three continents competing for the honor.

Bayer Leverkusen’s remarkable 2023/2024 campaign, which saw the club win its first Bundesliga title and the DFB Pokal, has earned them a place among the nominees.

Under the leadership of Xabi Alonso, Leverkusen became the first German team to win the league and domestic double unbeaten, setting a European record of 51 consecutive games without defeat across all competitions.

Alonso, who has impressed many with his tactical acumen, is also on the shortlist for Best Coach, where he will face off against Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta and Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti. Meanwhile, FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich will compete for the Best Women’s Club award.

The Dubai Globe Soccer Awards continues to break records with its global reach. Last year’s ceremony attracted a staggering 70 million votes from over 225 countries and territories.

The combination of fan votes and the prestigious Globe Soccer Jury, which includes legendary names like Marcello Lippi, Francesco Totti, Iker Casillas, and Luis Figo, ensures the winners represent the pinnacle of the sport.

Fans eager to support their favorites can vote online at vote.globesoccer.com, where the results will be combined with input from the Globe Soccer Jury to determine the final winners.

The awards ceremony promises to be a highlight of the Dubai International Sports Conference, as key figures from the footballing world come together to celebrate the game’s achievements and discuss the future of the sport.

In addition to the accolades, the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards will also host a special online auction in December, with proceeds benefiting the Al Jalila Foundation.

This heartwarming initiative aims to raise funds for medical research, education, and treatment in the UAE, with one lucky bidder winning an exclusive Golden Ticket to the event.
