UAE: United Arab Emirates is all set to play in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023, scheduled to be held in Zimbabwe from June 18 to July 19, 2023. The series will feature the ten teams as the fixtures of the matches have been announced.
The World Cup Qualifiers will be held in five stages which include Warm Up Matches, Group Matches, Super Six, Playoff and Final. The matches will be held at different playing fields in Zimbabwe, including HSC (Harare Sports Club), TAK (Taskshinga Cricket Club), OH (Old Harapians Sports Club), QSC (Queens Sports Club), and BAC (Bulawayo Athletic Club).
The match will be held in two groups, group A and group B. UAE is placed into group B.
Teams in Group A are as follows:
• Zimbabwe
• Netherlands
• Nepal
• United States
Teams in Group B are as follows:
• Sri Lanka
• Ireland
• Scotland
• Oman
• United Arab Emirates
The Warm Up matches will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, and Thursday, June 15, 2023. UAE will be playing their first warm match against Nepal in the match at OH sports stadium. On the other hand, the second match of UAE will be played against West Indies at TAK cricket club.
Further, group matches will be started on Sunday, June 18, 2023. UAE will play four group matches. The series of matches for UAE are as follows:
• On Monday, June 19, 2023: Sri Lanka vs UAE (QSC stadium)
• On Wednesday, June 21, 2023: Oman vs UAE (BAC stadium)
• On Friday, June 23, 2023: Scotland vs UAE (BAC stadium)
• On Thursday, June 27, 2023: Ireland vs UAE (BAC stadium)
Besides this, the Super Six, Playoff and Final matches will be started on Thursday, June 29, 2023. The playoffs will be held between the teams which will win most of the matches in the group matches. The playoffs will further decide the two teams for the final of the tournament. The final of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023 will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2023 at Harare Sports Club of Zimbabwe.
All matches will be commenced at 09H00 Central Africa Time.
