Government schools across the UAE have begun notifying parents that term exam results will not be released on the online system unless they first sign the mandatory Parent-School Partnership Charter.
School administrations across multiple emirates confirmed that the grades are now directly linked to parents completing and approving the charter through the designated digital platform.
Officials emphasised that the charter is compulsory for all parents—both citizens and residents—as it forms the foundation for effective collaboration between home and school on academic, behavioural and wellbeing matters.
Administrations reiterated that term results will remain withheld until the document is fully reviewed, signed and approved by parents.
The initiative follows updated directives from the Ministry of Education, which issues the charter annually to strengthen cooperation between schools and families. The document defines responsibilities on both sides, outlining expectations that support student development and ensure a positive learning environment across government schools.
Key provisions of the UAE parent-school partnership charter
According to school officials, the charter includes a wide range of provisions focused on student welfare, equality, and academic integrity. It requires schools to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment, ensure equal opportunities for all students, and maintain regular communication with parents regarding academic performance, behaviour, and wellbeing.
It also stresses unbiased implementation of the school code of conduct, and consistent monitoring of attendance and punctuality.
The charter also establishes clear policies governing assessments and examinations, explicitly prohibits cheating, and affirms the confidentiality of student data. It encourages participation in activities that promote positive citizenship and community values. Importantly, it includes measures to support students with disabilities, ensuring accessibility and fairness in all school processes.
Parents are also given a defined set of responsibilities under the charter. These include supporting academic progress at home, providing a stable environment, monitoring health and behaviour, ensuring proper adherence to the school uniform, and encouraging participation in both curricular and extracurricular activities.
They are also required to ensure that students respect school property and follow established behavioural standards.
How parents can sign the charter
Schools have outlined a simple process for signing the charter online. Parents can log in using their UAE pass digital ID, update the required information, navigate to the “Partnership Charter” section, review the terms carefully, and approve them electronically.
Once completed, an official copy of the signed charter is automatically sent to the parent via email. A duplicate version is also stored on the student’s profile in the school’s online system. Parents may also download the document as a PDF and share it with class teachers if needed.
Schools reiterate that exam results will remain inaccessible until all steps are fully completed. Administrators say the policy aims to reinforce the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening home-school cooperation and ensuring continuity in student support throughout their academic journey.
