Egypt records 2,025 new COVID-19 infections

The middle east nation recorded a total of 2,025 new cases of the deadly COVID-19 mutant as of Saturday, February 19, 2022, bringing the total tally of the confirmed infections in Egypt to 467,448.

Cairo, Egypt: The middle east nation recorded a total of 2,025 new cases of the deadly COVID-19 mutant as of Saturday, February 19, 2022, bringing the total tally of the confirmed infections in Egypt to 467,448.

The data has been shared in the report of the Ministry of Health. A spokesman for the Health Ministry, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, in a statement, while providing an update on the COVID-19 virus, informed that sixty-two additional deaths had been reported in the past 24 hours, as of Saturday.

With the arrival of these additional novel coronavirus related fatalities, the total death rate has risen to 23,694. A total of 1,543 patients recovered and were discharged from the hospital facilities.

The total recovery rate of Egypt has risen to 398,761, according to the data shared by the health ministry spokesperson.

The Vaccination statistics:

As of the data shared in the report of the health ministry, so far, there are a total of 39,317,370 individuals in the middle east country who have taken their first jabs of the COVID-19 vaccine and hence are partially vaccinated, counting for around 38.4% of the total population.

On the other hand, a total of 28,777,097 persons in Egypt have taken their required number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines and are fully vaccinated against the deadliest viral disease. This number accounts for about 28.1% of the total Egyptian population.

The data further highlights that there are a total of 811,171 individuals in the middle east nation who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their booster shots of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Additionally, the Foreign Ministry of Egypt informed that the country, along with China, handed over Sunday 500,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines to the Palestinian National Authority. These vaccine doses have been provided to the Gaza Strip, which has been produced by both of the countries.
