Egypt records 2,009 new cases of COVID in 24 hrs

The middle east country's healthcare authorities recorded a total of 2,009 new cases of the deadliest COVID-19 virus on Sunday, February 20, 2022. Along with these, fifty-eight (58) individuals lost their lives to the deadliest virus in the middle east country.

Cairo, Egypt: The middle east country’s healthcare authorities recorded a total of 2,009 new cases of the deadliest COVID-19 virus on Sunday, February 20, 2022. Along with these, fifty-eight (58) individuals lost their lives to the deadliest virus in the middle east country.

This brings the toll of confirmed novel coronavirus infections to 469,457. The data shared in the report of the Ministry of Health, a total of 2,121 individuals recovered and were discharged from the contagious viral disease in the middle east country, taking the total recovery rate to 400,882.

Since the start of the pandemic, Egypt has recorded a total of 23,752 recoveries.

The ministry of health noted that for the past few weeks, Egypt has been witnessing a rise in the daily COVID-19 infection rate and deaths.

In terms of the COVID-19 vaccination, there are a total of 39,317,370 individuals who have taken their first jabs of the COVID-19 vaccine and are partially inoculated, counting for around 38.4% of the total population.

On the other hand, there are a total of 28,777,097 persons in the middle east who are fully vaccinated by taking their required number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines. This number counts for around 28.15 of the total Egyptian population.

The middle east nation is also administering the booster shots. According to the statics, so far, there are a total of 811,171 individuals vaccinated by taking booster shots, which computes around 0.8% of the total population.

Egypt yesterday received a shipment of 2,158,650 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines from the United States of America. This shipment has been provided via the COVAX facility. Over 21 million doses of the vaccine have also been supplied by the Joe-Biden led administration to the middle east country, providing assistance to the country’s COVID-19 response.
