Dubai: Court announces imprisonment of 1 year to 2 Asians for stealing and selling a school bus

Dubai Criminal Court has ruled a sentence to a year of imprisonment for two Asian nationals along with a fine for stealing and selling a school bus. Both the accused have been fined worth Dh184,000 by the court. 

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: The Dubai Criminal Court has ruled a sentence to a year of imprisonment for two Asian nationals along with a fine for stealing and selling a school bus. Both the accused have been fined worth Dh184,000 by the court. 

As per the reports of the Dubai police authorities, an investigative team was immediately made soon after the bus owner filed a complaint after the vehicle went missing.

The accused found the school transport as an easy target to steal as the bus was left unsupervised for a long time. 

Dubai Police authorities noted that the bus was tracked down to a showroom in Sharjah, with the assistance of GPS – Global Positioning System. As per reports, one of the accused was working at the place. 

During the interrogation, both the accused admitted their crime of stealing the bus in front of the police officials. They further revealed that despite stealing, both of them also forged the registration of the vehicle. 

After stealing, the bus was then sold to a showroom at the price of Dh34,000.

Although, the identities of the accused have not been revealed by the police authorities. Despite this, no other information has yet not been shared by the police.

The Middle East country is known for its strict rules and laws in terms of various crimes. Theft in UAE carries a punishment of imprisonment starting from 6 months up to 3 years or a fine. Meanwhile, the person who tries to steal also goes through a strict punishment of from 3 months up to time period of 18 months or a fine.  

In addition, the previous week, Dubai court also sentenced one individual to three months imprisonment and followed by deportation, along with a fine worth 2,000 Dirham as he tried to steal a car with a woman inside vehicle.
