Jordanian female stabbed to death in UAE’s Sharjah over personal disputes

A young lady was stabbed to death in United Arab Emirates’s Sharjah. She has been identified as Lubna Mansour and was an engineering graduate from Jordan.

The married ex-pat lost her life after an attack on Friday, 24 June.

Sharjah Police stated a suspect was captured within two hours of the attack. He is presently facing charges of murder and a possible death penalty if convicted.

Police, who did not reveal the name of Mansour or even her attackers, did not give any comment regarding the claim by the Jordanian media that the attacker was her husband.

Mansour’s name was revealed by her family, who posted tributes for her on social media along with her pictures.

The deceased’s sister, Lyaz Mansour, wrote on social media, “God bless you, my love, a part of my heart has left me. You are in the finest place. I love you Lubna.”

Her photos were shared widely on Twitter, where her name was trending, and hundreds of people were giving their tributes to her. Mansour graduated from the Jordan University of Science and Technology (Just).

In a statement, Sharjah Police stated the suspect engaged with the victim as she got inside her car near her residence. The woman’s mother raised the alarm and told the police that her daughter had been abducted.

The attacker stabbed her several times before escaping the scene in her car with her body inside the car.

The head of Sharjah Police CID, Col Faisal bin Nassar stated it was found through CCTV camera that the man drove off in the woman’s car.

Police officers were able to trace the location of the vehicle after the assailant abandoned it. Her body was located inside.

Officials did not mention the suspect’s age or nationality. Police said the man confessed to killing the woman due to what he said was a “personal dispute”.

Investigations are continuing to discover the exact reason for the crime.
