Dubai launches Marine Assistant service to provide govt departments with marine crafts in waters

Chairman of the Dubai Border Security Council, the Maritime Navigation Regulation as well as Security Committee, along with the Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) at the Ports, Customs & Free Zone Corporation (PCFC), under the directions of Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has launched the Marine Assistant service which is aiming to provide government departments with marine crafts in the waters of Dubai.

Chairman of the Dubai Border Security Council, the Maritime Navigation Regulation as well as Security Committee, along with the Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) at the Ports, Customs & Free Zone Corporation (PCFC), under the directions of Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has launched the Marine Assistant service which is aiming to provide government departments with marine crafts in the waters of Dubai.

Executive Director of DMCA, Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, has confirmed that the Marine Assistant service had been started in line with the directives of Sheikh Mansoor to develop a system that improves the efficiency and competitiveness of Dubai’s maritime sector.

The Marine Assistant service is aiming to set up a unified civilian entity which is affiliated with the DMCA, Dubai Municipality & Dubai International Marine Club. The entity will earlier offer ten boats and provide field & logistical services to permit government entities to perform their tasks in the waters of the Emirate of Dubai. These missions may add inspections, marine surveys and other field operations.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed stated, “The Marine Assistant service delivers its services to all government departments to improve levels of coordination among these authorities. The requesting entity can manage the Authority directly to utilise the marine crafts for managing and performing tasks that need their presence in the waters of the Emirate of Dubai at any time.” He clarified that the Marine Assistant service aims to implement laws, decisions, and regulations and maintain discipline in the waters of Dubai. He noted that the DMCA would assume the charge of coordinating and supervising the provision of marine crafts when needed.

The Executive Director of DMCA appreciated the continuous follow-up by Sheikh Mansoor to develop the maritime sector in Dubai according to the highest standards and international practices.
