Dubai: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid meets King Charles III at Buckingham palace

Dubai's ruler and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, met with Britain's new Monarch, King Charles III and offered him condolonces on the demise of Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham palace.

Dubai’s ruler and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, met with Britain’s new Monarch, King Charles III and offered him condolonces on the demise of Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham palace.

The Dubai leader met Britain’s King Charles III at Buckingham palace in London. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid accompanied UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al-Hashimy.

Both the leaders paid respects on behalf of the whole UAE to the longest serving monarch of Britain, Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away on 8 September at Balmoral.

While meeting with King Charles III, they highlighted the monarch’s significant role in supporting and consolidating the strong historical ties between the United Kingdom and the UAE.

Dubai’s ruler Shiekh Mohammed bin Rashid said, “The historical ties between the two nations will continue to grow deeper and stronger to serve the peoples of both countries and strengthen regional and international security, stability, and peace.”

Dubai ruler on Monday tweeted, “Today, I met King Charles III at Buckingham Palace. We expressed the condolences of the people of the United Arab Emirates on the death of Queen Elizabeth II, their wishes for success in his new royal duties, and the continued wishes of the British people for progress and prosperity.”

The UAE’s President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed also spoke with King Charles on the phone on Sunday, during which he congratulated the monarch on his ascension to the throne, wishing him success in his duties as king.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) also announced three days of mourning on the death of the longest-serving Monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, on 10 September to 12 September.

The authorities declared that the country’s flags would be flown half-masted for three days in embassies and the public and private sectors to mourn the demise of Queen Elizabeth II.
