This Public holiday will witness observance rather than celebration. It is said that the festivities will be kept minimum.

The public and private sectors in the Emirates typically have unified holidays.

According to Islamic Calendar, In most of the gulf countries, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is on 12 Rabi’ Al-Awwal 1444, which is the third month.

The paid leave will be relieving for the people who work on Saturday too. This public holiday will be followed by two more, which will round off the list of official breaks for the year 2022.

The remaining two public holidays will honour Commemoration Day and the UAE National Day. Since these dates fall on December 1, 2 and 3, with December 4 being a Sunday, this would translate into the last four-day weekend of the year.

Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) on Tuesday tweeted through their official social media wording, “The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced that Saturday, October 8, 2022, Rabi Al-Awwal 12, 1444 will be a paid leave for the private sector on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday.”
