PM Roosevelt Skerrit attends Mens health dialogue with guest speakers

The prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, attended the dialogue focussed on "men's health". The discussion was held at the Viele Case resource centre in the parliamentary constituency of the Viele case on Monday evening.

The other Guest speakers who participated in this health discussion include Dr St Hilliare and  Coraley Thomas.

On Monday evening, a dialogue on men’s health was organised from 6 pm to 8 pm. The objective of the discussion was to make men aware to look after their well-being.

The prime Minister and two guest speakers also shared their personal views on this occasion.

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, during his speech, highlighted the importance of a healthy lifestyle to live a disease-free life. He said men should keep in mind that health is wealth, and men should not ignore their health, no matter how busy their daily schedule is.

Prime Minister, while speaking further stated that healthy people are assets for any country. On the contrary, physically or mentally unhealthy citizens of any country can become a liability for a particular country. Moreover, he also underscored the significance of mental health along with physical fitness.

The PM also emphasised that the Government is also taking many initiatives to spread maximum awareness on men’s health through different electronic and print mediums of communication, along with social media platforms.

The guest speaker, Mrs Coraley Thomas, underscored how the healthy population of any country could play a vital role in the overall development of the country.

She also focussed on the issue of mental health. According to her, in the present time of stressful life, people usually find it difficult to dedicate time to physical fitness, which is necessary to achieve Mental well-being. Moreover, she warned against the ill effects of an unhealthy lifestyle that can cause serious health problems later.

The participants of the discussion appreciated the decision of the Government to hold this kind of event. Participants expressed their satisfaction over the successful conclusion of the event.

Some attendees demanded that this event be held frequently as it benifits the  maximum number of people .
