Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: The Abu Dhabi Police Youth Council participated in the “Youth for a Sustainable Future” forum at the Oasis of Dignity Council in Abu Dhabi, in conjunction with International Youth Day, which falls on August 12 annually, in the framework of the United Arab Emirates declaration 2023 as the Year of Sustainability under the slogan “Today for Tomorrow”.
As per the update by Abu Dhabi Police, with the participation of the Youth Councils of the Federal Authority for Identity, Sexuality, Customs and Outlets Security, The Ministry of Justice, Communications Regulatory Authority, and Digital Government.
Speaker Dr Ali Mohamed Al-Masabi, Abu Dhabi Police Youth Council, confirmed that the acceptance of the meeting is part of the official agenda of the events of the International Youth Day in the United Arab Emirates for 2023.
It further stated that it illustrated the interest of the General Command of the Abu Dhabi Police in strengthening the local involvement of its Youth Council and emphasizing the importance of sustainability in various areas and youth roles in putting solutions to the challenges in the field.
The Council also discussed efforts by government agencies to promote environmental, legislative and technological sustainability to address sustainability challenges, aiming to seek innovative solutions by employing all future oversight tools to help governments anticipate future opportunities, trends and impacts, analyze their impacts, as well as spread awareness and encourage key sustainability issues Community participation in achieving sustainable development and supporting national strategies in this area.
According to the update, discussions between competent people and youth centred around four axis; the first axis is on achieving environmental sustainability through digital technology, through which the balance between technological advancement, environmental preservation and awareness spread among youth to ensure sustainable environmental and technological development.
Along with this, the second axis is on legal culture for sustainability skills and the legal culture on environmental system rights and protection, raising youth awareness towards the rule of law and supporting the green economy discussed, and in the third axis. The fourth axis emphasized the impact of satellite technological developments on space sustainability has been reviewed and the possibility that space science can contribute to space sustainability.
Reportedly, the meeting was attended by Colonel Salem Ahmed Al-Afret, Director of the Human Resources Training Department, Colonel Muhammad Hassan Al-Balouchi, Deputy Director of the Human Resource Performance Department, and a number of Abu Dhabi Police officials. Shields and commemorative photos were exchanged between Abu Dhabi Police and the Federal Authority for Identity, Sexuality, Customs and Outlets Security, and all Partners from Youth Councils participating in the forum, speakers and talented youth.
