Dubai Police supports families of inmates by providing them ‘Ramadan Ration’

The Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutes, Major General Ali Muhammad Al Shamali, applauded the efforts of the Ministry of Interior and their charitable arm - Faraj Fund, for the distribution of Ramadan rations to the needy families of male and female inmates and providing them with some relief from their financial burdens.

Al Shamali further said that the continuous efforts of the Ministry of the Interior that support the prisoners and their families increase the level of services being given to the inmates.

He highlighted that Dubai Police works continuously with several charitable entities, institutions and philanthropists to assure the sustainability of humanitarian work that assists the rehabilitation programmes for prisoners.

The Deputy Director-General of Punitive and Correctional Institutions at the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier Hamad Khamis Al Dhaheri, emphasised their eagerness to take part and contribute to the community by disseminating Ramadan rations to the needy families of prisoners and lessen their financial burden.

He also added that they strive to enhance the quality of life by giving a decent life to the families of inmates and providing joy to their hearts, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.

He stated, “This is in line with the idea of our wise leadership and reflects the humanitarian strategy of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to acquire the goals of correctional institutions and help inmates’ families and provide them everything that would ensure they live with satisfaction.”

The Director-General of the Faraj Fund of the Ministry of Interior, His Excellency Hamad Abdurrahman Al Nuaimi, said that they are eager to improve community solidarity work in all fields, particularly assisting and supporting families of inmates in a way that allows them to meet the requirements of their families and children.

The distribution of Ramadan rations to the inmates’ families at the Dubai Punitive and Correctional Institutions is a part of the Ministry of Interior and Faraj Fund’s efforts to help families of inmates of different penal and correctional institutions across the nation.
