Egypt: The Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdul Ghaffar, has announced that 417 thousand and 405 services were provided through the “100 Days of Health” campaign yesterday, Thursday, July 27, in all governorates of the Republic.
On his part, Hossam Abdul Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the services provided by the “100 Days of Health” campaign included 13 thousand and 139 services as part of the President’s initiative to support women’s health – on the first visit – in which occasional and recurring visits reached 31 thousand and 662 services.
Spokesperson Abdul Ghaffar added that the 100 Days of Health campaign provided the services of the President’s initiative for early detection and treatment of dysfunction and hearing loss in neonatal to 2208 children, 44 thousand and 833 services were provided under the President Initiative for early detection, treatment of chronic diseases and kidney failure.
Furthermore, he indicated that the campaign provided 3 thousand and 163 services within the Presidential Initiative for Maternal and Fatal Health, 6 thousand and 103 services to extract certificates from the President’s Initiative to screen pre-marriage prospects.Â
It was also noted that 2225 citizens were treated under the President’s initiative to end waiting lists and issued treatment decisions at the state expense for 10 thousand 678 citizens.
The launched campaign provided the services of the President’s initiative to examine cancerous tumours (prostate – colon – lung – cervix), filling 15 thousand and 451 questionnaires, adding that the total number of people who attend medical caravans reached 14 thousand and 566 citizens.
“The number of beneficiaries from the services of family planning clinics reached 64 thousand, and 749 beneficiaries, and home visits to rural women reached 74 thousand, and 194 visits and the rates of vaccination of children with routine vaccinations reached 131 thousand and 519 children”, said the spokesperson Abdul Ghaffar.Â
In addition, the reports said that the campaign provided 2915 services in the field of mental health, including emergency services and psychotherapy, addiction treatment for adults and adolescents, rehabilitation, psychological support, complaints tracking and responding to enquiries.
The 110 days health campaign provided awareness and health education services to about 54 thousand citizens through community communication teams spread in public areas, clubs and malls in governorates.Â
The program also aimed at raising awareness and directing citizens to receive the services of the public health initiatives provided by the campaign; educational seminars and awareness activities were also held.
Notably, Abdul Ghaffar called on all citizens to go to the headquarters to provide campaign services and locations for the concentration of mobile clinics, to avail their services or to request home visits for patients from the elderly and those unable to move via the hotline «15335».
