Roosevelt Skerrit, the Prime Minister of Dominica  invited the public to the welcomeing event for Thea Lafond-Gadson first Olympic gold medalist from Dominica.

Roosevelt Skerrit, the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica  invited the public to the welcomeing event for Thea Lafond-Gadson. The event will be held on August 25th and include a Motorcade and celebration rally for first Olympic gold medalist Thea Lafond-Gadson.

PM took to his social media handles to invite the general public. On his official Facebook page, PM stated  “Greetings, Please join us as we are going to  celebrate the historic achievement of Olympic Champion Thea Lafond-Gadson.”

According to PM  everyone must come forward to welcome Thea Lafond-Gadson, who made the country proud at a world-level sports event. Thea Lafond-Gadson created history as she became the first Olympic gold medalist from the island nation of Dominica.

 

It is to be specifically mentioned that Thea Lafond-Gadson competed in the women’s triple jump category at the Paris Olympics in 2024. Moreover  she was also the winner of the 2024 world indoor triple jump championship.

 

The PM also congratulated Thea Lafond-Gadson on August 4, when she won the gold medal. In his message  the PM praised her monumental achievement.  According to PM Skerrit, Thea Lafond-Gadson’s victory will be a milestone in the country’s sports culture.   she will be a source of inspiration for aspiring sportspersons across the Caribbean region.

It is to be noted that PM not only congratulated her on social media but also interacted with Thea Lafond-Gadson personally over the phone. After the historic achievement, the PM   shared glimpses of Thea Lafond-Gadson’s interview with Sports Max TV channels.

 

 

In addition, PM Skirt said  “Your achievement on the world-level sports platform fills the nation with pride and joy. Everyone is waiting to extend a grand welcome to you on  your return to  home.”

 

On the other hand, social media users reacting to Roosevelt Skerrit’s Facebook post once again extended their best wishes. A Facebook user  Clavia Poponne Black  commented, “You gave our little island  Dominica a front-row seat on the world stage. So proud of you. I will be celebrating with you.”

 

Similarly, another user  Cheriyln Ettienne  commented  “Well deserved, congrats, Thea. You have done good for  Dominica   and we will awesomely celebrate your success.”
