St Kitts and Nevis: Dr Terrance Drew – The Prime Minister of the twin island Federation participated in a diaspora meeting in Washington DC, US yesterday, April 16, 2023. The meeting was held as part of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Spring Meetings, 2023. 

During the meeting, PM Terrance Drew was accompanied by his small delegation and addressed the diaspora on several interesting and pressing topics.

According to the recent updates, the diaspora meeting was held at St Kitts and Nevis Embassy at 3215 New Mexico Ave NW, Washington DC, from 4 pm to 6 pm. During the meeting, St Kitts and Nevisians diaspora living in different states of the US, such as Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) areas, were invited to the meeting.

In addition, to share the news, Prime Minister Terrance Drew took to his official social media handle and extended his heartfelt greetings and congratulations to St Kitts and Nevis diaspora for participating in the meeting. In his remarks, PM Drew noted, “I was beyond pleased to see the large turnout on Saturday afternoon at the Diaspora Meeting in Washington DC.”

He expressed his happiness and gratitude towards all the attendees for their valuable contribution in taking St Kitts and Nevis forward on the global stage. He stated that the diaspora living outside the Caribbean nation is the face and representative of the country in the world, which is a significant part of the nation.

Furthermore, he shared his experience from the meeting and noted, “I value interacting with fellow nationals of St Kitts and Nevis. I have made it a point to capitalize on every opportunity to share the developments within our beloved Federation and to hear the concerns and suggestions as we work together to lift our nation.”

Moreover, Prime Minister and Minister of Health of St Kitts and Nevis, Terrance Drew, also acknowledged the diaspora’s role in the country’s growth and development. 

In this regard, he outlined, “Nation-building is a people-centred service that is multi-pronged, requiring commitment, consistency, and input. We are all in this thing together.”

As per the updates shared by PM Drew, he also shared a glimpse of his visit to the diaspora meeting, where he can meet and greet St Kitts and Nevis nationals. During his address, he shared his thoughts and held a Q&A session, exchanging ideas on different aspects connected to the country’s growth.
