Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis – Dr Terrance Drew, has paid a visit to the Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) staff at the Joseph N France (General Hospital) in Brumaire, St Kitts & Nevis yesterday June 02, 2023 (Friday). Prime Minister held an interactive session with the EMT staff and exchanged greetings, and expressed his joyfulness in joining them at the hospital.
According to the shared information, Prime Minister Terrance Drew, who also serves as the Minister of Health of the Twin-Island Federation, has extended motivation and inspirational messages to them for their upcoming EMS training course. In addition, the reports stated that the Emergency Medical Technicians entered the second phase of the EMS training course earlier this week.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis has taken to his official social media handle to acknowledge his visit to the Joseph N France hospital. He shared a number of photographs taken during his visit and his experience while talking to the EMT staff through his Facebook caption.
In this context, Prime Minister Terrance Drew noted, “Decided to stop by JNF this morning to visit our Emergency Medical Technicians who began the second phase of the EMS training course earlier this week, to share a few words of encouragement.”
The reports have also claimed that PM Drew has been extending immense support and assistance to the EMT staff further to enhance their emergency response procedure through innovative measures and amplified training courses.
Furthermore, “The EMTs are gaining important skills training to improve their CPR skills, enhance their patient evacuation skills from the scene of an accident or injury, and to teach life-saving techniques before getting the patient to the hospital,” added the Prime Minister in his remarks. He also outlined that he hosted a special dinner to honour the EMT staff for their exceptional work and efforts in saving people’s lives in critical situations.
While sharing the update regarding his visit to the JNF hospital, PM Drew added that the Emergency Medical Technicians are very excited about this training course conducted by Matthew Rolph, a former paramedic from the United Kingdom and founder of EMS International.
In the end, the Prime Minister of the Caribbean country concluded that this next training step in the second phase would upgrade the basic and intermediate-level EMTs to trained paramedics. After their training, the intermediate EMTs will be equipped with better on-ground skills and procedure-performing techniques, he added.
