It is worth noting that going on Hajj is a very important for millions of Muslims. It involves going to Mecca, a holy city in Saudi Arabia, to do religious rituals. When a Muslim arrives in Mecca, they wear special clothes called ihram. Men wear white clothes, and women dress modestly. This shows that everyone is equal during Hajj.
The main thing the Muslim community do during Hajj is walk around the Kaaba, which is a very important building, seven times. It shows that they are devoted to God. They also walk between two hills called Safa and Marwa, which reminds a story from a long time ago.
Another important part of Hajj is standing on a mountain called Mount Arafat. After Mount Arafat, the visitor visits to a place called Muzdalifah and sleep outside. There they collect small stones to throw at pillars that represent ‘Satan’ – this way they say no to bad things.
The end of the Hajj is a celebration called Eid al-Adha. An animal is sacrificed and the meat is given to the people who need it. This reminds a story about a man named Ibrahim who showed his love for God.
Visiting Hajj helps Muslims feel closer to their religion and join together with other believers. It is a journey that is very important to their faith.
