The world’s tallest and largest Ferris wheel, Ain Dubai, located on Bluewaters Island, near the Dubai Marina in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has announced its closure throughout this summer.

A statement posted on its official website said that the tourist attraction would be closed temporarily for “enhancement works”.

Earlier, Ain Dubai had announced that it would be closed during the holy month of Ramadan but did not give any reason. At that time, it also said that it would be reopened for the Eid Al Fitr weekend. But according to the latest update, another announcement will be made once the reopening date will be decided.

Ain Dubai is located on Bluewaters Island and is around 250 metres high. It has about 48 cabins, and every cabin contains a capacity of a total of ten people. Cabins are split into three main categories: Observation Cabins, Private Cabins and Social Cabins.

The observation cabins of Ain Dubai offered tourists the perfect vantage point for a 360-degree view of Dubai – over the shores of the Arabian Gulf. One rotation of the wheel takes as much as 38 minutes. Tickets for adults are rated at Dh130 and Dh100 for children between 3 and 12 years of age.

The officials also stated that although we don’t know precisely how long that will be, the site suggests that a further announcement will be made once a reopening date is set.

The website has cited ‘enhancement works’ as the reason behind the temporary closure of the Ferris wheel. There will be many new things to look forward to when the Bluewaters Island attraction will reopen after summer with many new changes and advancements. When the first closure was announced earlier this month, the website vowed that Ain Dubai would “introduce new and thrilling offerings bound to wow visitors.” We are suitably delighted.
