The prime minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, met Charley Williams. Charley Williams is serving as the deputy high commissioner of The United Kingdom in Barbados And the eastern Caribbean.
She was in Dominica to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new president of Dominica. H.E. Sylvanie Burton took over as the president of the Commonwealth of Dominica.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said that bilateral relations between both the countries are very significant and essential.
Smooth bilateral relations between both countries can pave the way to cooperation among both nations on various fronts,including trade, cultural exchanges , security, people-to-people interactions, etc.
Roosevelt’s Skerrit also stated specifically that ongoing partnerships between both countries are a positive step towards maintaining long-lasting bilateral relations. He also added that these kinds of bilateral and multilateral meetings among the different nations is important for discussing the relevance of various topics.
These topics range from the economic cooperation, educational,cultural exchange programmes, development issues, etc.
Moreover, these interactions between the higher officials of any particular country play a crucial role in building strong international relationships between countries.
Roosevelt Skerrit stressed that his country was determined to enhance its cooperation with the United Kingdom to bring maximum investment in the Commonwealth of Dominica.
Similarly, Charley Williams expressed her thoughts on the strong mutual bond existing between both nations.
she also emphasised that the United Kingdom is always looking for the building of cordial relations with a maximum number of countries, and the Commonwealth of Dominica is on the priority list of the united kingdom, i.e. England.
She also discussed the Russia-Ukaraine conflicts and their worldwide impacts with the prime minister. She underlined that in today’s globally connected world, no country can keep itself immune from the effects of international problems of conflicts.
The reduced supply of Russia to European countries was also discussed by both leaders, with a solution to replace the reduced supply with alternative supply lines.
She also reaffirmed the comment of Dominica’s Prime Minister that enhanced bilateral relations can bring a dramatic change in their relations.
