28-Year-Old Pakistani Man Sentenced for Armed Robbery in Dubai

The defendant, along with his accomplices, lured two victims to a remote spot and threatened them with knives before making off with stolen goods, including high-end mobile phones, luxury watches, and personal belongings

Dubai: A 28-year-old Pakistani man has been sentenced for his involvement in an armed robbery that took place in Dubai’s Al Muraqqabat area.

The defendant, along with his accomplices, lured two victims to a remote spot and threatened them with knives before making off with stolen goods, including high-end mobile phones, luxury watches, and personal belongings.

The incident unfolded when the gang targeted two Indian nationals, both of whom were victims of the brutal heist.

The culprits managed to steal boxes filled with valuable electronics from a local electronics trading company, among them high-end Samsung and iPhone mobile phones, as well as expensive luxury watches.

The two victims, identified only by their nationality, were subjected to violence as the gang demanded their possessions.

From the first victim, the defendant stole a Samsung Ultra S22 mobile phone in green, an Emirates ID, a Dubai-issued driving license, three bank cards, a car key, and Dh17,400 in cash.

The second victim was also stripped of valuable items, including a blue Nike wallet containing his Emirates ID, a driving license, Dh40 in cash, and an Honor 98 mobile phone.

The culprits fled the scene with the stolen items, leaving their victims shaken and distraught.

The Dubai Police swiftly launched an investigation into the robbery, with the authorities tracking down the accused man based on leads from the crime scene.

Despite his denial of the armed robbery charges, the Dubai Criminal Court found the defendant guilty of the offense. However, his accomplices remain at large, with police continuing their efforts to track them down.

The case highlights the persistent threat of armed robberies in busy urban areas, despite the ongoing efforts of Dubai’s police force to combat such crimes.

The incident has left the local community on edge, and law enforcement has vowed to continue tightening security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

While the defendant has been brought to justice, the victims’ emotional and financial losses remain substantial. The court’s verdict serves as a reminder of the serious consequences that accompany criminal activity, particularly violent crimes like armed robbery.

The police investigation continues as authorities work to locate the remaining members of the gang, who managed to evade capture for the time being.

As Dubai continues to be a hub for both residents and visitors, law enforcement remains vigilant in its efforts to keep the city safe from such criminal behavior.
