His Excellency Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, and Dr Jalila, daughter of Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, paid an inspection visit to the building of the National Laboratory Center in Houra Ali to check on the work of the technical staff in the laboratories.
During the visit, His Excellency Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, affirmed the importance of the work of the National Center for Laboratories in various branches of Agriculture, Animals and Fisheries in Houra Ali as one of the essential pillars in the field of food industry and safety, emphasizing on its guidance His Majesty King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa, King of the Great Land May Allah protect and preserve him.
The continuous follow-up from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Prime Minister, may Allah protect him regarding promoting food security and sustainability in the Kingdom.
His Excellency the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture stated that the Ministry is currently working on qualifying national cadres to develop the work of laboratories according to the highest international standards, adding that the Ministry is working in cooperation with the World Food and Agriculture Organization (Fao) and the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development on Training Bahraini cadres in laboratory fields and qualification of competent personnel specialized in their areas Relevant to the Sustainable development goals.
The Minister said that having a laboratory centre in the agricultural, animal and fisheries field will empower the diagnosis of farming and animal diseases, ensure the effectiveness of immunization programs, conduct field and laboratory epidemiological examinations, and develop prevention and control plans on epidemiological diseases.
The provision of scientific and research consultation and training of human personnel under expert supervision Reference centre, as well as cooperation with international institutions, to exchange experience and knowledge in this field.
