Deputy PM Ernest Hilaire visits Bamboo Expert Training Program

Ernest Hilaire, The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, visited the Bamboo expert training program to see the progress of program.

Castries: Ernest Hilaire, The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, visited the Bamboo expert training program.The program aimed to enhance the skill of making creative Bamboo products. This training program is being carried out at the premises of the Cultural Development Foundation of Saint Lucia.

Ernest Hilaire was accompanied by the staff of his office. This visit of the Deputy PM came on the 21st Of November, 2023, just before the session of the Parliament of Saint Lucia.

This bamboo expert training program is being sponsored by the Embassy of Taiwan in collaboration with the Cultural Development Foundation.

During his visit, the deputy PM interacted with the staff of the foundation and trainers who were there to provide training to interested candidates.

Ernest Hilaire, Deputy Prime Minister, also saw the products created by the trainees. Moreover, he also appreciated the crafting skills of this trainee and wished them the best wishes for their career development in future.

Ernest Hilaire, Deputy PM, also took to his social media handles and let the public know about his latest visit to the foundation.

He also stated that these kinds of training programs are very beneficial for the people of Saint Lucia. People can develop their talent and hone their creative skills. Deputy PM also added that this will encourage the people to use their talent to create economic activity for themself.

Deputy PM Ernest Hilaire also said that he is keen to see the finished products from the participants of the training program at the end of the program.

While expressing his gratitude towards the Taiwan Embassy, he stated, “I want to say a special thanks to the Taiwan Embassy for organising and supporting such impressive initiatives which are vital for the development of our creative economy”.

On the social media post regarding his visit to the program, many users gave positive responses; one user commented that, “ Can you bring these to my home to teach me, I am unable to leave my house due to the illness of my son.”
