The case unfolded after Dubai Police received a tip-off about the man’s involvement in drug use and possession at his residence in Al Satwa.

Acting on this intelligence, officers from the General Department of Anti-Narcotics launched a raid on his property, leading to his arrest and the seizure of multiple packets of heroin.

Following the arrest, forensic experts analyzed the confiscated substances, confirming that they contained heroin. The seized items included six foil-wrapped packets, collectively weighing 89 grams, along with other narcotic substances.

Additionally, a drug test conducted on the suspect returned positive results, indicating the presence of narcotics in his system.

During interrogation, the accused admitted to acquiring the heroin for personal consumption. He revealed that he had purchased the drugs from another Asian individual via WhatsApp, who provided him with location coordinates for drug pickups.

Payments for the transactions were reportedly made through bank transfers, a method often used by drug traffickers to avoid detection by authorities.

The Dubai Public Prosecution charged the man with drug possession and consumption. Based on the evidence presented, the Dubai Criminal Court sentenced him to three months in prison, along with the mandatory confiscation of the narcotics and his deportation upon completion of his sentence.

In a subsequent appeal, the Dubai Court of Appeals upheld the initial verdict, reinforcing the UAE’s strict stance on drug-related offenses.

The ruling underscores the country’s zero-tolerance policy toward drug crimes, which carries severe penalties for possession, distribution, and consumption.

The UAE has consistently enforced stringent anti-narcotics laws to curb drug-related activities. Authorities have intensified efforts to combat drug trafficking and abuse through coordinated law enforcement actions, intelligence gathering, and public awareness campaigns.

Dubai Police and the General Department of Anti-Narcotics continue to urge residents to report any suspicious drug-related activities, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in maintaining a drug-free society.

Law enforcement agencies also warn against the dangers of illicit drug use and the legal repercussions associated with narcotics offenses in the country.

As drug laws in the UAE remain among the strictest in the world, individuals caught in possession of narcotics, even in small quantities, face serious legal consequences, including imprisonment, deportation, and substantial fines.

The government remains committed to ensuring public safety and upholding the law to deter criminal activities linked to illegal drug use.

This case serves as a reminder of the UAE’s unwavering commitment to combating drug abuse and trafficking.

Authorities continue to monitor and take swift action against individuals involved in such offenses, reinforcing the message that drug-related crimes will not be tolerated in the country.
