Moghazi asserted, “The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is racing against time to localize the electric car industry, and the interest in industrial zones contributes to increasing foreign investments“.

Apart from this, he highlighted the significance of holding a ministerial portfolio for the investment during the next government formation.

The launch of the first Egyptian electric car will eventually reduce the unlicensed tuk-tuks within the country. This e-car will be available for purchase to the general public in the instalments, in collaboration with a number of banks such as – Agricultural Bank of Egypt, the National Bank of Egypt, Banque Misr, and Commercial International Bank (CIB).

EG Gate is also a part of the project. It is a company of the Tahya Misr (Long Live Egypt) Fund, and Dolibaat Egypt for electric cars, in cooperation with an Interior Ministry company.

Mohamed Najah is the head of Dolibaat Egypt, which manufactures electric cars with a 45 per cent local part in cooperation with major factories & national authorities. Dolibaat Egypt recently penned down an agreement with Egypt’s Engineers Syndicate protocols to open 28 training centres in the middle east nation.

These training centres will be training engineers and technicians to work with electric vehicles(cars). The establishment of around 400 to 1000 service and maintenance centres and charging points is also a part of the agreement.
