Dominica: Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica – Dr Roosevelt Skerrit has greeted and welcomed United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Mr Didier Trebucq, on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.
According to the recently shared update, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and UN Resident Coordinator for Barbados and Eastern Caribbean, Didier Trebucq, was also joined by Dr Renata Clarke, FAO Sub-regional Coordinator; Mrs Laura Hildebrandt, UNDP Head of Dominica Project Office; and Mr Marlon Marie, UN Country Coordination Officer for Dominica.
In addition, the information and glimpse from the meeting were shared through the official social media handle of PM Skerrit. He uploaded several photographs from the conference and informed the country’s residents about the recently held discussion with the UN representatives.
While sharing the update, the Prime Minister of Dominica also expressed immense gratitude to the visiting parties and representatives of respective organizations. He took to his Facebook caption and wrote, “UN Resident Coordinator for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean Mr Didier Trebucq paid a visit to Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit on Tuesday.”
Meanwhile, the reports have confirmed that the conference held a variety of topics to discuss among the participating parties, such as bilateral relationships, cooperation development, and other mutually concerning aspects.
Furthermore, they discussed development assistance in preparation for the Government of Dominica – United Nations co-hosted Development Partners Meeting held today, March 29, 2023.
As per the sources, it was also pointed out that the meeting was also focused primarily on developing and making effective efforts to strengthen the mutual cooperation between the tripartite of the Dominican Government, the United Nations and Development Partners.
While concluding his notes, PM stated that “the United Nations Resident Coordinators Office for Barbados & the Eastern Caribbean is leading the roundtable discussion with the ultimate goal of strengthening the tripartite relationship among the Government of Dominica, Development Partners and the United Nations.”
